The majority of Precision Massage clients with generalized low back pain that radiates across the entire lower back are suffering from an uneven leg length. This condition is both very common and treatable with the right knowledge and tools.
Chronic low back pain can be on one side or it can be on both sides, or it can move around from one side to the other, depending on the imbalance in the muscles that cause your legs to become uneven.
Your body is constantly trying to balance itself. This can cause your pain and stiffness to move from one side to the other, or your pain can even shift from your hips to your neck and then back again! This is your body’s way of trying to compensate for your pain and keep moving freely.
The good news is low back pain can be treated with soft tissue manipulation, if a practitioner knows what muscles to target, and in what order.
If you have been diagnosed with an uneven leg length, or if one of your hips appears visibly higher than the other hip, Precision Massage can help you target the muscle imbalances causing these conditions. Once your legs are an even length, most often the chronic lower back pain will stop (but Precision Massage cannot promise any specific outcome, because everyone is unique, and your results may vary).
Still, if you want to take control of your health and remove your leg length or hip height imbalance you need to come in for a Precision Massage treatment as soon as possible.
