Having a short leg on one side, or a long leg (less common), happens more often than many people think. Often times it’s the first issue I have to deal with when a client reports having lower back pain.
If you suffer from lower back pain across your entire lower back, chances are both of your legs are being pulled either too short or too long. The good news is this issue is treatable with the right knowledge and tools, and can resolve completely in a very short time without any invasive procedures or surgery.
If you find yourself taking pain medication constantly for lower back pain, you really should think about coming in for Precision Massage and see if your issue is treatable. You won’t know until you have your leg length tested (which I do almost every day). Many health professionals don’t even know how to discover a long or short leg, much less have the knowledge to treat the soft tissues creating this imbalance.
At Precision Massage I don’t diagnose any conditions, but at the same time I’ve seen this issue often enough that I’ve created effective protocols for treating a short leg or a long leg. You have to keep in mind this condition did not happen overnight, and you may have long-term soft tissue damage that needs to unwind so your legs can go back to the correct length.
Sometimes your legs can be uneven because of a bone issue, but 9 times out of 10 one of your legs is being pulled out of place because the soft tissue near your hip is too tight.
Once I identify if your leg is long or short, I can help you end this cycle of lower back pain due to a leg length discrepancy.
