That Hump at the Top of Your Shoulders

When you spend a lot of your time hunched forward, you damage the soft tissues around your neck and shoulders and quite often a small hump appears at the top of your shoulders. Along with this, your head will pull forward and your shoulder blade will tilt forward and downwards. These issues often go hand in hand with one of your shoulders being higher than the other.

So now you have 3-5 problems, not just the hump at the top of your shoulders.

All of this soft tissue damage happens because your muscles and ligaments are being forced into a position at odds with your natural body alignment. You form a hump at the top of your shoulders, and adjust your whole upper body forwards to support the awkward angle of your 6-8 pound head!

The good news is this condition is treatable, once the soft tissues are identified creating this imbalance. It would help tremendously if you stopped hunching forward, but in the meantime, working to correct the damage you’re already caused is essential to keep you from a lifetime of neck and shoulder pain.

If you’re chronically hunched forward, consciously or not, you can wait until you reach the point of terrible pain, or you can try Precision Massage now and discover how to fight back against the hump at the top of your shoulders.
