When you experience pain, your body is talking to you. It’s asking for help. The majority of people ignore their pain, or mask their pain with drugs, hoping it will just go away.
Often times it does just that.
Because your body is designed to keep moving, and one area in pain will cause another area to shift and compensate to keep your body moving. This is the exact reason a body will have one shoulder higher than the other, one hip lower than the other, one knee turned inward and one ankle turned outward. This is the picture of multiple compensations running up and down the body to keep your body moving after an initial injury causes you pain.
The problem is, these various compensations force your joints into misalignment. Your knee was never meant to twist inward in order to function. Your hip socket was not designed to rotate outward and change the angle of your leg. Your neck and shoulder are meant to be equal height on both sides. Your legs are designed to be even in length. It’s all geometry really, the correct angles for all of your various joints throughout your body.
Your body doesn’t realize parts are misaligned until you reach a threshold of pain. That’s your body talking to you. That’s your body asking for help. And that’s when you should call me and book your Precision Massage treatment, so we can together analyze what your body is trying to tell you, and how to best go about putting the misaligned parts back in alignment through soft tissue manipulation.
It’s really that simple. And you don’t have to wait until your body reacts in pain, you can proactively work to keep your geometry solid by making Precision Massage a regular part of your wellness routine. In fact, the best defense against future pain is corrective action now in your soft tissue imbalances so your areas of injury and compensation never progress to the pain threshold in the first place.
